Festival season is here and with the weather the way it is - wet, wet, wet - footwear is a big consideration. But there are two camps for festival footwear. There are those that are happy to wear the wellies and keep their feet dry, and there are those who are happier to risk ruining a pair of sneakers. Sometimes at festivals you can be lucky, like I was when I went to V-Festival a couple of years ago. It was August and it was dry every single day - I ditched the wellies after the first day and got away with flip flops. Something tells me that this summer is not quite so kind though, so you need to make a choice - trainers or wellies?
If you are opting for wellies there's one brand that we all know and trust -
Hunter. I've got a pair of black Hunter Wellington boots and they're great. Comfortable, practical and a label-lover's favourite choice. Tuck your jeans in the top to keep them dry.
If you are going for sneakers then it has to be
Converse. Go for high-tops and lace them up well and at least that should ward off too much dust and grime getting into your shoes. Ditch the canvas style for a more water-proof upper and that should also help keep your feet festival-happy.
Finally I'll throw in another option that's been championed by the likes of Joey Essex and his TV show pals - mid-calf boots.
Swedish Hasbeens have a
Worker Boot that would be great for festivals? But is it a stylish choice? I'm not entirely convinced on this look for guys, but when it comes to wellies you have to think practical and if it means you can enjoy the festival all-the-more then it's most definitely worth switching camps.
When it comes to festivals, what shoes do you wear?
