FASHION - My-Wardrobe's Denim Bar

My-wardrobe.com is launching London’s first ever pop-up Denim Bar on Carnaby Street this Wednesday – a pop-up bar and shop made entirely of denim. It sounds like fun and hopefully I'll be able to tell you all about it after I take a look this week. You could be going too if you are a lucky winner in the denim dash that will be taking place in London tomorrow.

London’s 38 Carnaby Street will play host to London’s debut pop-up bar made entirely of denim on the 27th – 28th May.  Designed by Mark Lawson-Bell, the creative mind behind Conduit Street’s Sketch’s interior design concept, the pop-up bar invites shoppers to enjoy a Tanqueray No.10 my-martini in style, whilst browsing the SS10 menswear denim collections from the site.

Featuring designer brands such as PRPS, Nudie, Stone Island Denim, Levis, APC, King Krash, Levi’s Vintage and Edwin, the my-wardrobe.com Denim Bar will be a live shopping experience with a difference.  Whether it’s deciphering between the likes of skinny, slim, straight, relaxed and boot-cut or the various denim treatments including black coated, vintage wash, raw, organic, crinkle wash or salvage, shoppers can be assisted by my-wardrobe.com’s own buying and styling team.

The DENIM DASH is on tomorrow from 12-3pm so watch out for the rest of the clues that will pin down exactly where the jeans will be hidden. Follow my-wardrobe on Facebook for all the latest updates.

NEWS - Smell Like Bruce Willis...

Premiere Of "Sherlock Holmes" -Arrivals

So it seems that Bruce Willis is releasing a fragrance. Another star jumping on the bandwagon... and I get it with women, but from all the research I've done, men don't really respond to that whole celebrity fragrance thing. Some men must buy them though, otherwise we wouldn't keep seeing more of them.

If smelling like Bruce does appeal to you then look out for the new fragrance in July. Is he trying to keep up with ex-wife Demi Moore who recently released her perfume? Or perhaps it's just an opportunity to diversify and make some extra money - you can't be an action star forever... interestingly  The Independent reports the fragrance will not be available in the USA although Now magazine say it will - we'll find out come July.

GROOMING - Soap & Glory for Men

I'm a fan of the Soap and Glory range for women so when I heard there was a men's range too I was keen to see how they would make the packaging as fabulous as the girl's versions. They succeeded. The striking red and retro imagery are really cool and the whole collection is great for gifting. Prices start from £3.50 so it's an affordable, everyday range. I tried out a few of the items and here's what I reckon...

Hair sculpting putty - high hold, medium sheen with beeswax. A pea sized amount is enough to re-style your hair in a jiffy. Smells good and isn't too sticky in texture.

Facial Moisture Balm - contains aloe vera to combat irritation caused by shaving. So many men don't moisturise, I can literally see how dry some of my male friend's skin is. If you do one extra thing in your grooming regime, make it this. Take a look in the mirror and look hard at your skin, if there's any flakiness at all then your skin is probably crying out for some hydration.

Energy Boosting Shower Gel - contains stimulating Ginseng and Gurana for that morning get-up-and-go! This has a great zingy fragrance.

Eau Man Body Spray and Brute Force Anti-Perspirant Spray - wasn't overly keen on the fragrance of these. They almost seemed a little feminine probably because of the heaviness of the vanilla scents. If you like vanilla and muskiness then you'll probably like them.

Shave Gel - glides on making shaving easier and smoother. Great price too.

Soap and Glory for Men

My favourite product though was the spot-fighting gel. I'm keeping this one for myself!  You just add a small amount to blemishes twice a day until they are gone. Mine died down after 1 day... could be coincidence, but I'm keeping hold of this product just in case.A veritable secret weapon for a clear complexion.

Find out more about men's Soap and Glory goodies at the Soap and Glory website. And if you fancy yourself as a master of wit, why not take up the challenge to suggest a pun! I'm going to go away and try and think of something amusing right now...
