FITNESS - Give Your Workout a Boost

My boyfriend almost always has a can of 'whoop ass' (as we like to call it) while at the gym. I myself went through a can every morning at my desk when I started a new job. Whether you want more energy or more concentration, an energy drink can give you just the boost you need. Talking of which, there's a new energy drink in town, aptly called 'Boost'. I've given it a try and here are my thoughts...

Flavour:

Fruity, slightly sharp but totally refreshing and tastes really, really sweet. I tried the mixed fruit version.

What's in it?

The usual to be honest. Caffeine of course, Taurine, carbonated water, citric acid, sweeteners and B vitamins. It's sugar-free though which is always a bonus.

The boost:

Certainly pepped me up. Ideal for the gym or just when feeling the need for some extra energy. The boyfriend gave it the thumbs up, he usually drinks another brand which is not sugar-free and this was just as good, he reckoned.

Verdict:

Always handy to have a few in the fridge, just don't overdo it with these drinks. They can be really bad for your teeth (citric acid) and too much caffeine isn't ideal. I'll still be keeping an eye out for these on the supermarket shelf for when I need a surge of energy though.

Boost Energy is available in 500ml and 1 litre bottles and 250ml slimline cans, in original, light and cranberry flavours. The RRPs for Boost 500ml and 1 litre bottles are 79p and £1.09 respectively, while the RRP of Boost’s 250ml can is 55p.
